I think I had this Mofro Benefit show at one time, but can't seem to find it now. I have emailed three people on the db.etree.org site to see if I can set up a trade or b&p with one of them. If I get a copy, I'll share.

Actually Stan I found it, its on the Archive! However, its archived in the Robert Walter's 20th Congress Directory. Apparently he uploaded both the RW20C & mofro shows as one. To further complicate the matter, they are in .shn format. Man, haven't seen that format in a while. Like a damn 8-track or something... At any rate, I will pull these down (just the mofro set), convert to flac, and re-up in the JJGM directory.

What a kick ass thread this is! Not only have we learned a ton of Mofro history, but it has unearthed a few rare recordings as well! Speaking of that, I receive the Power Jam in the mail yesterday, THANKS JIMBO! I'll get that ripped and seeded this weekend. Looks like rain (thanks bobby) for tomorrow, should have plenty of computer time :)

Jimbo....good for JJ....those major labels are nothing but a pain in the ASS!!!

Scott....I just received an email from an old friend saying he would send me the show, but I told him never mind since you found it on the archive. He was the person that sent me my copy of the Alma Zuma cd which I can't seem to find, so I asked him to burn me another copy.

All you whipper snappers who think flac files are the bees knees, what with yer ipods and what not... Well, back in the day we had shn files. And ya know what, they weren't taggable, or even seekable. And ya had to get hip to an ftp site to even get them, and you better hope you could get a slot within a month or so to even grab what ya wanted. Wasnt any of this bit torrent crap. 1/2 hour downloads. Please, I remember leaving my computer runnin for 3 days to get one show. And before that? Hell, we had to use the MAIL. Thats right, US Postal Service, slow as hell, bubble mailers and case logic double sleeves. Looked forward to the first day of each month for B&P day on rec.music.phish or gdead or gdlive or nugs.net... Hopin like hell we could get included in a tree, or a vine, or a even a leaf. Keepin our trade list updated with all the shows, rules and the likes. Discs must ONLY be burned disc-at-once. Tryin to remove the gaps when slackers burned using TAO. And whats this talk of discs? Hell I remember buying brick after brick of maxell XLII cassette tapes. Don't send me no stinkin regular bias crap or no sorry ass TDK's! Turn off the Dolby noise reduction! That crap sucked. Do you know how many dual cassette decks I went through. The nakamichi dragon. 1st generation straight off the master DAT Braaah. But wait, is this a master or a 1st gen? 5th gen hissy nightmares, sounded like somebody wiped their ASS with the tape, and we LIKED it!

Jeesh, don't know how lucky you got it.

If it makes you feel any better, I don't know what the hell a flac file is......I just stumble my way through this, not sure what a wav or mp3 is either....

I remember taping songs off the radio with my cassette player, does that account for anything, lol!

Matter of fact that whole show is just freekin rediculous, sounds like JJ had been hittin the sauce and is LIT up lord have mercy on fire. Nice up Stan, I don't know where you got half these old school nuggets but damn sure glad you've shared them.

And yeah Gator, that Redneck Prophet article, along with the Freebird show from 7/27, what started it all for me. That was published in our local entertainment rag here in Jax, Folio Weekly. I still have at least one copy and swore I had more, still lookin for those extras ya'll...

Clay, you just need to rename this the All-Knowing Mofro thread of knowledge, The Mofroly Grail, Lost arc of Mofrovenant, or something, you get my drift :) This thing is just epic. And I have a feelin we aint done yet.

Im just feelin it today, and I haven't even had a sip of whiskey yet.

Air was inspired by Wile E. Coyote and other cartoons; when they went off the cliff and they looked momentarily like they were walking on air. I've heard him tell that a couple times but I don't know/remember if he said much more than that.

Sunny: that would be "Wrong Side"

Finally! I have something to contribute to this incredible thread.

About Dew Drops, yes it's about someone JJ knew or knew about. His father beats him and when he does the boy imagines being in a place where he's "walking on dew drops..." Then he gets old enuf to leave home, stays in touch with his mother but can't shake the memories of his father. I think.

Sunshine, you are right with the Faith Nation Jocks. Check out the Mofro Merch Ideas thread for further clarification. Jimbo is on a roll as usual.

As for Dew Drops, everything said about it is correct, a few things to add were that the kid was a good friend of JJ's and from what I remember the kid was quite poor. Lived in a shed or shack or something like that and tried his best to keep it from everyone, was embarrassed about it. I think the kid kinda stuck up for JJ or they had each others back all the time when he was young. The Father did beat the kid and the mother was not around at the time, for what reason I don't know. Then at a young age, the kid and his father left town or dissappeared and JJ wrote the song about him while on tour with BB King and Jeff Beck. I'm pretty sure the kid didn't go to school either, but will post when I find the archive song where he talks about it in detail.
