Is the song "How Junior Got His Head Put Out" about something that actually happened to JJ or someone he knows? I believe that most songs are written about people or events in JJ's life.

Thanks for y'alls in put!

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

looks back at some bamboo room, and/or culture room shows for some good ramblings on this subject within the song.

really 2005 or older. i dont think he has told much of the story in the last few years.

you are right, I don't think I ever heard a mention of the story behind this song. And I wasn't introduced to Mofro until 2006, so your dates align correctly.

I will now have to take a trip back in time, thanks for pointing me in the right direction UHollis!

Yeah there are several shows where he tells the story or tells some of the story. I wish I could remember which ones now, but I heard him still telling it in 06, maybe even a little into 07(?)

There's one where he explains what a 'jit' is (a brashy type that beats his girl) and 'dancing on the wire' (doing cocaine).

Junior (the jit) and his girlfriend were sitting in his pickup truck doing cocaine and some people drove up and shot him. Happened across from a McDonald's where JJ and a buddy were hanging. It may be the one that Mile High is talking about. I didn't listen to that one before I opened my yap here. From what JJ says, Junior wasn't liked much. JJ's has often either called him an asshole or referred to the song as a 'tribute to an asshole.'

not to get off track of "Jr". but listening to this show from 2003......"She don't know" with just JJ & Daryl......... "Dew Drops".....they seem to have a more raw sound.

maybe it is the lack of horns or piano (and absolutely not taking ANYTHING away from Art, Dennis, Anthony, & Andrew) that give it that feel.

nice way to end my workday Monday!
