Who else? Im gonna set up Skot Dee's Smokehouse at our camp, doing Alaskan Salmon on Friday night, Pulled Pork on Saturday! Ya'll stop by!

PS - Can you believe there is a freakin HURRICANE coming? Not one landfall all year and now we get one. Go figure. Good news is though it might not be that strong and should be long gone by the weekend. But still. We might have some wet ground to get down in...

Not to mention if it does pass, the rain it might leave in it's path. The mud at Voodoo Fest was unreal. Jen ended up having to throw out her shoes. At some point you had to go thru mud. You could get around it most of the time but eventually to get from point A to point B you had to go thru mud and/or standing water at least once. It was a mess.

Food sounds fabulous Skotdee!! Ya gotta let me know how it comes out. Bear Creek sounds like a blast!! Maybe one day, maybe. Gotta spend this weekend doing outdoor chores as I have been gone completely from the homestead the past 2 weekends in a row.

Mud....gotta love it!! you will always remember your adventures more when a hardship is overcome!!! Great memories!!!

:o)

Shin splints, sore calves, and aggravating an already bad back...all from slogging thru the mud. Those are memories I'd rather forget. My back is still recovering. Sunny you bring out the curmudgeon in me!! I don't go to no festivals to experience hardship gurl!

One of you fine folks, please tape Papa Mali's set. I'm sure if you talk to him beforehand he will be more than happy to help with a board patch!

Sure wish we could go, but unfortunately we don't have the extra cashola at this time. Talked to some friends in Pensacola (NW Fla) today and they said the storm blew through there quickly, so you should have nice weather for the weekend! Bundle up as I'm sure it will be chilly.

on my list of camping music festivals , this one makes it to #1, it was jazzfest at the suwannee river music park and all my friends were there.

the weather was absolutely perfect, not a cloud in the sky.

musical performances were top-notch with new orleans representing all over the place, lots of crossing over,sit-ins and jams.

the chef backstage was roasting a pig on friday and grilled oysters on saturday.

soo much fun dancing to zach deputy with JD and jessica, ryan, beaufro and heather.

jammin out with scotdee to perpetual groove( you alright scott? you were grinning like crazy to 'don't you forget about me')

seeing all my festival friends and people I worked with all summer long , all in one festival.

it was great seeing paul levine all over the place, at every stage, watching at least part of the set.he is the man behind the festival, he knows all the musicians personally. he took great care of zach deputy. he likes to play in the campground after hours a lot and last year he got in trouble with the cops. so this year they had him play a couple of minisets in between setchanges.

jj made his appearance on sunday, sitting in with galactic and than later on with dumpstafunk, he was having a good time, watching and chatting with fellow friends/musicians . I was able to chat with him a little myself. and it was actually my job to ask him if he needed anything.

my job was with artist hospitality, each stage has people assigned to it that make sure everything is there that was requested. since it was my first time I was kind of a floating between stages, wherever somebody needed something or watch the area if they wanted togo and see somebody play. david phelps was working at the mainstage, with his girlfriend joy, running the artist area there.

it was cool. I hope to do it sgain next year. i find it very fascinating to be behind the scenes and see how it all gets put together.there are some seriously cool and dedicated folks that put on these events.

here are some photos

I'll be moving the review part of this to the Review thread as soon as I get some work out of the way.

For them's that are going "who the hell is David Phelps?," he's their old merch guy before Adam.

Sounds like an awesome time FF. Wish we coulda gone. Your job there sounds like it was fascinating.
