Yes, we are having a wonderful time! This crazy insomnia I have had for 3 weeks is making me so tired, though! I was only able to hang at Tip's for an hour. Galactic didn't come on til about 12:30 am. And the place was soooo crowded you could barely see the stage! Now, I had a pretty decent night's sleep, so we'll see if I can hang with the big dogs tonight!

we all went to the voodoofest today, ate good food, saw panic, robert randolph and of course mofro.
never been to a show that had "I believe" and sun shining down" on the same setlist. was a laidback show, guess the energy is being reserved for tonight!

There used to be no A/C at Tips (only a couple ceiling fans, most of which didn't work or weren't turned on).....talk about some hot and greazy nights up in that club back in the day (they even used to serve food there....some kill cheese fries among other things)!!! It would get so hot in there even your sweat was sweating!!!

I have heard nothing but good things about Tip's. May have to someday see Our Boys there. I want to see them in Florida first. Trying to plan a trip there during the kids spring break to see them at the Tampa Bay Blues fest. Looks like its gonna work.

Sunshine/Sandman....if you all are planning a trip to Florida to see Mofro, I would suggest waiting til they play a venue as their festival sets are usually much shorter than a standard show.

still working with the censorship bureau, hehe,we will have a final meeting after 2pm, than I can tell ya'll

stan I know what you mean, one time i was waiting to get inside for a late-night galactic show, and it POURED, my tickets literally fell apart, crazy night that night!

and than there was this purple food vendor truck that would park outside after shows, haven't seen it though.

you ever been backstage/upstairs? freakin cool

we were chanting for stagger lee but i think jj got a little drunk(members/friends of shooter got the band a round of shots--3 times !!) so its possible he would have not remembered all the words

jen&clay snagged a setlist but i think jj pretty much changed it up after the first song

rowdy crazy ass crowd!!

Stan I hear you regarding festival vs club show, but both of us will have the kids with us (spring break). Unless during that time were are there they playing a club show and we could find a sitter etc. we will have to be happy with a festival show - which I am. Besides, my fingers are crossed they are coming back to the Peel in the early part of next year.

FF - waiting patiently after you have you censorship meeting!!

one cool thing i noticed last night was that the some of the shooter guys/bandmembers came to the show . guess those guys were clicking pretty good on this tour, became friends and stuff
they brought several rounds of shots to the stage, after the 2nd one is when jj says, you all gonna want your money back if you keep this up,lol
I talked to one of the guys and his girl after the show, nice guy,(I gotta check out which one it was,he was also playin the trambourine on the encore) i think they were digging the fans mofro has

one funny thing i gotta say is that we were talking to AC by the stage and he started to tell clay on what you can put syrup on and clay was holding his ears ,walking away and AC followed him and kept sayin, eggs, meatloaf, mashpotaoes, sausage, pretty funny!!

matt grondin sat in and tore it up,

i think i lost a few marbles last night, come to think of it, lol

clay, jen, rob and I went to cafe du monde to have beignets at like 3am but I think they just got over a big rush, place was a MESS, we will go back today. we went to the st.charles tavern for breakfast instead

We had an awesome -- amazing! -- time last night! Yes, the guys were pretty drunk, but they were having fun, celebrating, and loving the Nawlins vibes. The show was a blast. Watching each member of the band respond to JJ's set list switch-ups, whilst taking shots, and just plain acting silly, was a cool thing to witness.

During the day, when we saw Mofro at the Voodoo Fest, their musicianship was outstanding. I felt totally woozy and I had to leave the crowd during the first or second song, and went to lie down in the muddy grass. From there, I was able to experience the concert in a whole new way. I looked up at the blue sky and tree tops (City Park is a beautiful spot, and the weather was perfect) and listened to the show, rather than watching. I could hear everything perfectly. It was so beautiful. And nowadays, JJ is just starting to incorporate some back-up singing from AC, Farrell, and Trube -- I noticed it when they were playing "I Believe" -- especially right at the end. It was gorgeous with total harmonizing. And when they played "Sun is Shining", the sun literally was shining down. And I made a full recovery and was able to pop up off the ground and rejoin my friends for the encore.

it was the last day of the tour, they all going home so its prob be safe to get a little tipsy.
we were chanting stagga lee like crazy and jj kept grinning about it but he didn't go for it.
and yeah i think he had a nice buzz going but he was fine, as always

there was a crowd of about 10 or so young ,rowdy kids next to us, they were all really, really drunk but they all knew the music well and danced accordingly, even though it meant a couple of elbows and so. seemed like everybody had a good time.
a couple that was at voodoo during the day, saw mofro for the first time, we told them about tip's and they came!! clay gave them a card , tellin them about the board, maybe they come on here.

well today was a lazy one, clay and jen went to mothers for lunch, ashley and I slept all day, went to the bulldog, seems like the whole entire town was watching the saints foorball game, thank god they won, didn't wanted to deal with cranky losers :)

eric lindell played at the circle bar, and only in new orleans, a band that was scheduled to play at 10, waits to the end of the footballgame to start their set. he was great, we swooned to the music, it was then halfway thru the night and into 2/3 of a beer that I had finally consumed enough alcohol, the limit was reached, and as I put down that beer , I realized what a fantastic weekend it was indeed, full of music, food, laughter and great friends!!!!!

love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was great to meet you all in New Orleans! Mofro was amazing at Tipitinas!!! Voodoo fest was good too, but a short set and didn't have the ambience if tips. Going from never seeing Mofro live to twice in one day was quite the experience!!! I've enjoyed their music for years, but haven't made a concert until Sunday. I'm hooked now! Can't wait for some Florida shows! Will see you guys again soon!

I'm a little behind here so pardon the late welcome Jennay! I hope I have the right person here y'all, after all the whole weekend is still coming back to me in bits and pieces, but Jennay and her man came up to me after the Voodoo set and he said something like...'I was noticing that you knew every single word to every single song so I thought maybe you'd be a good person to ask more about them'

He must've thought I was either real stoned or a moron cause I just started laughing, really hard, and so did the TW. As he and Jennay are wondering what the hell was so funny I handed him a fansite biz card. He said something like 'damn I guess you are the guy to ask.' We told them a little about the band and about the Tip's show and saw them there afterwards. I think I was there. I was there right Ash? Firefly? I was at Tip's right? Oh yeah, yeah, it's coming back now.

Anyway, welcome Jennay to our Mofro madness.

The gumbo was good. The fried chicken was so goddamed good I et it before I could photo it. Excellent. The coating was different than the usual southern fried chicken as was the seasoning. Being I consider myself a fried chicken connisseur (and have the cholesterol level to back it up), I put it on my top 5 list.

I can't remember what everybody else got but I tried it all and I remember it was all off the charts good.
