This Thursday and Friday (9/17 and 9/18) in Fredericton, New Brunswick? The guys are playing both nights: 8:30 on Thurs opening for Susan Tedeschi and Fri at 9:15 opening for Elvin Bishop. Two shows definitely worth hanging around for. Here's the the official festival schedule.

The band has made some great friends and picked up a lot of new fans this year in Canada and we all appreciate your appreciation for our southern swamp funk!

Hello the506, pull up a chair! There's always room on the Front Porch!! I see that you've caught Mofro-itis. Most of us on the boards have it in advanced stages and the only cure is more MOFRO!!

Welcome 506!!!!

:o)

the more the merrier!! You will not meet (cyber or otherwise) a more nicer group of folks then you will here.

I came down with a mild case of M*O*F*R*O-itis back in October of '06.....just a mild fever for the first couple of months, but man, I got it bad after a while, and then to my husband's deep concern (to this day infact), it was a FULL BLOWN case and there was nothing the doctors could dew. I guess you could say that I have a fever and the only prescription is "More Harmonica"..........

I just take it day by day, and to this day it has been the most wonderful journey.................

Hope you enjoy your ride....and that goes for all the Mofronians out there, young and old alike!!!

:o)

Our boys got some great reviews from the two sets they did up north. Check 'em out... Opening band getting pulled back out for an encore? Yup, sounds like they got Mofro'd up there..

Some more off-the-cuff notes while I watch the Patriots game...

2/3 of the setlists were the same both nights. Kind of a letdown, but I'm sure not complaining. Anyone have the setlists? I'd like to refresh my memory...

Loved JJ's back stories (esp She's on Fire on Frida)...you've probably heard em all dozens of times.

Elvin Bishop even gave the guys a shout-out during his set.

Now, this Mofro-itis sounds a lot like the Black Crowe-itis I've had for a few years. Tell me, is this board full of stubborn "fans" who are stuck in the past too?

My trophy wife is disagreeing on the hair Sunny. She don't lak it.

506, bow wow should be coming on any time now and putting the lists up. (He's part of the band crew, sets up, breaks down, sells merch, and is a general all-around-nice guy.) If he don't I'll jerk a knot in his head when I see him on Thursday.

As for the "stubborn" fans question, well...I cain't win answering that question so I won't try!

Hey, Kimberly...Black Crowes--he's one of you!

I saw both shows - ran back for the second one because I thought I was late - husband couldn't make it - who cares...

Mofro were great and stole the Festival in many peoples' opinions, and I'll be looking for interesting venues in the States to see them again. New Orleans is attractive... Two encore requests doesn't begin to tell you how the place was thundering for them!

Hope to see JJ Grey and MoFro again next year in Fredericton.

Hi there Wynne and the506! Welcome to our obsessive little corner of the web! We're Mofro-crazed and lovin' it! Did someone say New Orleans? Come on down to the Big Easy for Voodoo Fest! There is no friendlier city on earth!

Thanks for the welcome :)

I will be coming down to New Orleans for the Mardi Gras Marathon at the end of February - I sooooo hope with my fingers and toes crossed that the cosmic mojo works out and I can somehow see JJ and Mofro again at that time.

Any insider news about what they are doing for Mardi Gras?

Hi Y'all, caught both shows in Fredericton. After about 3 songs of the first show, me and my buddy looked at each other in astonishment. Hooked for life!

I was a big Rare Earth fan back in the day. Mofro reminded me of them and JJ's vocals have at least the same power and soul as Pete Rivera's. Couldn't get over the whole experience, amazing! Bought Blossoms after the second show, and the boys signed it. Gave props to them for their stealing of the whole festival. Bought the other 3 CD's online. 2 have arrived, waiting for Blackwater.

I've done nothing but spread the good word after the first show. Been awhile since I've been this sideways about a band. Back in the 70's, to be exact.

Caught the Sat. Jax show online Sunday. Waited for him to give Fredericton props during Lochloosa, and he sho enough did! Very Cool.

Now I'm looking into the cruise. My mother spends part of the winter in Zephyr Hills. I'll find my way down to Fla., one way or another.

Glad to be on the porch!

Goodness gracious y'all, them from the Great White North are finding us! A hearty welcome to Wynne and Helix77. Thanks for telling us more about the shows up there. It is so cool to hear stuff like that. They weren't sure how they'd be received and were blown away by the reception y'all gave them.

No word on Mardi Gras Wynne.

Helix, sounds like you be an "old man" like me (Rare Earth was the giveaway). :>)

I never thought I'd ever get this sideways about a band ever. It's pretty goddam cool huh?

Hurry up on the cruise decision. I think they're pretty close to selling out. We live about 30 miles from Zephyrhills. Hell you're only about 30-40 mins from Skipper's from there.

Glad to have y'all both. This is damned exciting to hear how good a time everyone had and to be hearing from all these fans from Canada.
