The lochloosa opening on the recording is quite surreal. Very nice recording and sounds like the guys played a great opening for DTB. Would have loved to been at this show, Mofro and Derek Trucks, don't get much better than that.

Someone on Flickr got some great pics from the show. Looks like JJ is growing his hair out still. If you get the chance, check out these pics because they are stellar.

DT I agree with you about Lochloosa, I said something along the same lines to Clay last night after he posted the link to the show, except your comment is much more poetic than my "JAYSUS F*CKING CHRIST, is that a rip your guts out rendition of Lochloosa from The Belk Theatre, or what?"

I know there is much debate about JJ's long locks, but I for one like it ALOT! =)

for the encore , derek trucks brought out anthony farrell , him and burbridge shared the keys/piano setup, I got a photo of that, I will posted it soon.
the venue and crowd was kinda fancy, I was wondering how a uncensored stagger lee would have affected the neat dressed ladies..

The pics on that Flickr stream that I posted has a few good ones that show what the venue looked like. Looked interesting, especially the side shot of the guys where you can see the individual balcony seating. To me it looked like it was built back in the colonial times and has a southern touch to it. Looks nice, but I'm sure it was an interesting place to see JJ and the guys. Kinda a tough place for him to get the crowd going with a sing-a-long Lochloosa or Junior Harp Jam.

I can't imagine sitting during a full band show, I had a hard enough time controlling my "happy feet" during the solo performance at SSSJ!

Yup. What he said...and her...and him. All of it. =)

No actually, that's pretty badass..the live archive. Did not know of it's existence. Just close your eyes and you are there...hoots, howls and all. And DAMN Lochloosa sounded GOOD.

Thanks for posting!

I forget that there are still many fans out there that aren't aware of the live archive. We'll have to do a better job at plugging it. Unfortunately there have not been near the tapers at shows this year but hopefully that will change soon.

I don't have any photos of mofro because when I got there they had already started and by the time i got in there and figured out the picture taking policy it was too late and I was too far back anyways, towards the end of the show they let folks move up front and dance in the aisles

P.S wish I would have known the show started at 7, when I checked I saw 7.30 and 8 to 11, oh well teaches me a lesson to be 3 hrs EARLY the next time
