Here is a great video of some old school Mofro. Blackwater from back in the day. Great video and sound. I love that it has a great video of Daryl playing. Gonna open tune my guitar tonight and start jamming like that. Fabrease and Nathan rock it too. JJ is great on the Harp on here. All in all a great flick. Check it out ya'll. Hey Clay, that reminds me, I have an idea for the website but have a few questions about whether or not the site could take it and a few other things. Remind me if I forget, but I will email you the details and see what you think.

And for notfadeaway, who has been asking for this song repeatedly, while I can't put it back on the set lists for you, I can atleast give you some old school Nare. Basically for those of you who "try and play me, like I don't know what I'm talking about, cuz I'm a fool. But I figured it out!" Oh and the Jamaican Rap too.

Thanks DT! After I watched the first video I saw Nare Sugar and "I figured it out." Then I see you posted it for that "guy" who is probably me. Again, thank you very much.

Just imagine, Nare Sugar with Warren!!

Hey Sunshine, my Mofro intellect tells me that it is from the place where I would love to see them play live. Not because I know of it, not because it is by my home or anything, but just because I have downloaded all of the shows from this venue and play them religiously on my ipod. For some reason, to me, it seems like they always put on a show at this place just from the recordings that I have listened too.

I'm guessing it is Lincoln Theatre, Raleigh, NC 4/26/2003. Check it out on the archive and compare...

I knew I had heard that Blackwater before.

Very nice DT. I had to put the Nare Sugar on the front page to be sure nobody missed it. That's classic stuff man.

And i've never heard that particular Nare Sugar up there ^^^^^

Stan may be able to help.

Hey UHollis, I'm pretty sure that is the show from the Lincoln Theatre, 4/26/2003. The topic of a DVD out there is new to me, but the video quality seems as though it is very likely. It is definitely on the archive for sure.

Also, the version of Nare Sugar is with the Jamaican Rap. They've only done that a few times, but this is a great version of it. The Blackwater version is a little different as well, but JJ really rocks the harp on it and the keys in it have a little more drive to it. Vintage indeed.

lucky to have heard a few of the Poonanny Raps.

i for some reason cant get on the archive, but is that the cobill show with Galatic from there that you speak off?

we used to pass that thing around listserv like crazy, and it was even one of the main shows that got MOFRO big in the tape trading circles.

Great show.

If this is the show I think it is, I have the complete gig on DVD somewhere....I'll have to dig it up!

As for the Jamaican Rap, it was played quite a bit back in the day....saw them do it many times.

DT.....That is actually Mike Shapiro on keys, not Nathan.

Thanks Swkelley for correcting me. I think Nathan was on the Blackwater album and Shapiro replaced him. That is Fabrice on bass to as well? Those videos that I pulled came from a Myspace Page labled "Fabgrease". Don't know if maybe that is actually him or a fan running that site.

Ahh, I got Jimbo to come back and post. Glad to catch your attention. Ya gotta love the Blackwater video with Daryl in true form. He plays a killer slide guitar on that version. I've been watching that clip over and over to try and mimic it on guitar. I'm close, but not quite there.

Thanks for the info Jimbo! I figured there was no way Stan was wrong in thinking there was a DVD of the show. You can tell the camera work on it for these videos is not amateur. I was gonna add that this show is available in audio on the archive as well.

Hey Jimbo,

a while back I asked you a question about Daryl. I'm not sure if you saw it or not or did not want to answer it. I understand if the later is the case, but if you didn't see it, here it is again.

I grew up in Kansas and remember reading somewhere that Daryl was born in Topeka? I was just wondering if that was true and if so what roots does he have in Kansas if any? That's about as close as I get to being linked closely to Mofro other than being a die hard fan. I have nothing even remotely close to Florida other than Mofro and you all here on the board.

Thanks Jimbo, and to reitterate, if you don't want to answer, no worries, was just asking you because I know that if anyone would know, it would be you.

Oh, and ditto to Sunshine and Clay, quite the pleasure to have you on the board Jimbo. I dig the Hatching Day, classic.
