i thought it was a great time, venue was nice, it was nice to be able to run around with no shoes on for a change.

the setlist was awesome imo, my girlfriend ended up getting her hands on it, cool thing about the setlist was he had the harp keys by the song and also the chords for seminole wind (probally for will).

the last solo jj we saw was up there in st. augustine a little while back, and we all agreed that his playing was getting much tighter, comparatively (not that the preivous was bad).

i also have a bunch of pics, i will figure somewhere to dump them.

good times, i am not sure how i did not run into anyone on here, i talked to a few people and they were not aware of the site, but will be checking it out.

I have uploaded all 190 pics from Surfin Snook to www.gallery.me.com/sixtow. There are also pics ther from Skipper show and both Blackwater Revues. Surfin Snook Summer Jam was Great. Beautiful Facility, Wonderful Grass, Laid Back Crowd, Super Weather (considering the time of year) and JJ. It was a nice intimate show with friends and fans. I got some pics of the amphitheatre and the small crowd to give those who couldn't attend a sense of the atmosphere. Oh yeah I also got pics of JJ playing the Yuke. PS I am in the process of YouTube video of almost all song under JJ Grey Surfin Snook Summer Jam 2009 7 parts

Axl.......we were all dead center at the start of the grass.....about 12 of us and the rest were just to the side of the soundboard under the pop up tent.

Great to finally meet and put a face to several of the people I've chatted with on this message board.

HAHAHA! Look at the expression on my face and me clutching Eric's fish!

I beg to differ! :p He knew I was next to him on the stage, we were chatting as he was signing autograph's, he just didn't know I took a step back to check out the manscape! I mean really, it was an opportunity I just couldn't resist!

In case you didn't know this, every once in awhile, I have a very slight problem with impulse control! :p

You should have heard me asking him if he would "sign my fish!" :p

Clay,
As promised Saturday night, I am no longer a lurker, now a participant...
Thanks to Clay and Trophy Wife - and all - for letting us (my sister, Amy and me)join in and be part of the group festivities...
Keep on doing what you're doing. I'll do my part from now on.
Needless to say, it was a great show. Got the opportunity to talk to J.J. before the show and "complain" about no BSR 3 this year (the amphitheatre is a 5 minute walk from my house)...He did promise something around that time relatively close by-which I'm sure you are already aware of.
We'll see you all down the road.

Note to UHollis: only for a brief second.

It was a great time for sure. We should all wish for a little amphitheater like this in our areas. Very impressive venue. Also impressive were all the volunteers that put the event together. Thank you to everyone from the Snook Foundation and the Surfriders Foundation for all your hard work before and during the event!

We had a great time with our extended Mofro family. Nice to spend more time with Stan and Hollis, great to finally meet morena (and her friend), meet people I haven't before--like BSR*Fan above, welcome Brandan!--and SixTow, and others.

It was hot! I mean hot!! But they had plenty of beer for sale and even were handing out free water and power drinks.

I can't believe JJ played so many songs! I didn't think he'd have that many on the setlist. Can you believe he even did Jookhouse on acoustic? It was about a 2 minute version, but he did it.

Note to giggles: Whachutalkinbout? You WERE TRYING to stick to him! (He's going to start running away soon. You realize if he has to hire a security crew becuz of you that tix prices will go up, don't you??)

What Brandan is referring to is same as has been discussed on the BSR3 threads Sunny. No BSR3 this year but (as JJ now confirmed) rumor has it that they are planning something in N. Florida this fall. To my knowledge, no other info has been disclosed...unless he gave Brandan more info. So JJ could be talking St. Aug, but "relatively nearby" could also mean Jax or Jax Beach (or Daytona for that matter.) If it's fall I suppose it could be an outdoor event, or perhaps it's a couple nights at the Freebird. Total speculation on my part because I honestly don't know.

Oh no! I don't want to be the cause of hired thugs or sky high ticket prices; therefore I propose that Clay purchase a small cattle prod or a low voltage taser and just apply a wee bit of "crowd control" if I get antsy............or I could stop going to shows.

It was funny; when I asked J.J. about BSR3, I started by saying: "Since there will be no BSR3 this year..."
He interrupted me and smiled and said that wasn't necessarily true (or words to that effect)...
BUT, he then told me they were working on something around that same time period, most likely for Jacksonville.
And then he apologized for making me have to drive from St. Augustine to Jax for a potential shindig, which I got a kick out of...

Are you sure that was me? I was the crazy red head holding the big fake fish! Because that does not sound like me at all! I can't imagine chastising anyone for not knowing the words! I very often will not sing along because I am just so moved by the experience that I am literally rendered speechless with awe. But if by some freakish reason I did (maybe I was suffering from heat stroke?), please accept my most sincere apologies!!

My absolute sincere apology to you.
Not that it was that big of a deal to my sister--she got a kick out of it.
But-I don't want anyone to get the wrong story.
And, I certainly don't want to get off on the wrong foot on this forum...I guess that may be too late, eh?
Really, really sorry.
