there's internet, but it's expensive and really slow.
when you step on the boat, the only thing you gonna worry about is carrying your room key which is also what you use at the bar and a music schedule.
no time forcellphone/pda's/computer/radio/TV/morsecodes/claypigeons/smokesignals/ponyexpress/messagecarriers..etc

I'll beg to differ with FireFly (she loves it when I beg.) I've been on 3 music cruises, the first 2 on Carnival. The first year they had no cell coverage, the second year they had an agreement with one of the big carriers for service...on ship calls and texts were free, calls to the U.S. required you give up a kidney or lung. This year we went on NCL and they have all major cell carriers, on ship is free and to the U.S. is a little less--requiring something like a gall bladder or spleen.
Texting on ship is quite handy. If the trophy wife wanted to check out one band and me another we could keep up with each other and figure where to meet up.
As for internet, I didn't find it slow...it's satellite obviously. But oh you bet FF is right about expensive. If you're gonna use it you better be quick. Otherwise they require a more serious organ like a liver or a foot.

It ain't preferable to go online or something while on a cruise but sometimes there's shit going on back at the office that ain't gonna wait. And folks that use the internet as part of how they derive their income sometimes can't go a week without going online and checking things. I've had to do it, so has the TW, but then we just shake it off and get back down to partying!

didn't see anybody use their cells last year, but whatever, i can tell ya'll that between 6pm jan3rd to 9am jan8th, you ain't gonna hear from me, I'm not even gonna bring my laptop and I will leave the phone in the car.I'm gonna be too busy dancing in the jamroom til 6am, napping until 10am and than doing it all over again. and what happens on jamcruise will stay on jamcruise or have you heard me tell you any crazy stories from last year?hehe
