Amazing amazing show! And I met the nicest group of folks there too :-)

Not a finer fan could JJ's harmonica could have gone too, congrats TN Cracka and thank you for your copy of the set list, Chris took me back stage and JJ and Simone signed it: "Love the BBQ", it made my evening.

Clay and GTD, thank you for setting us all up with the pre-party, it was such a great way to begin the evening.

I brought 3 virgins and one fell into the trap we laid, and we now have another one on our side.

The sun has finally come out here after 3 days of just bout solid rain, so I am going to go rock hunting at Harmon's Den, for our waterfall we are building in our back yard....we call it "Blackwater Falls"

Thanks for a great evening everyone! It was indeed a pleasure to meet each of you!

Without a doubt, the best Mofro show I have ever seen. Art and Dennis were absolutely amazing. JJ was in rare form. It seemed like Asheville really brought out the best in the boys. Really enjoyed meeting up with the crew before the show. GTD, thanks for hooking up the pre-party. Clay, thanks for everything. It was awesome to finally meet you and the TW. And Sunshine, to quote JJ, "words cannot convey." I couldn't imagine having more fun at a show than I did with you guys. And yes, I got JJ's harmonica. I'm still on cloud 9. I can't think of another piece of music memoribilia I would rather have. Tracie and I talked about the show the entire drive home. Absolutely fantastic! Sunshine, I'm sending you my info tonight. If you don't get it, Clay has my personal email address. Peace out.

What a show!!!!!!!!! I love the new sounds frmo the Hounds. I'm been worthless all day. The drive back to Greenville was highlighted by downpours and thick fog. What a great combination. I got a coupe videos but not as much as normal. I just couldn't stop shaking my ass long enough to take video! What I do have it definitely not my best work but I will share anyway. I'll provide the links so you can take advantage of the HD option when viewing.

I admit it, it was a lucky grab (lol). Don't get me wrong, they destroy Nashville everytime they play it. You should make the trip down I-40. I will do my best to match your hospitality. One more thing, "I got a fever, and the only perscription is more harmonica!"

If you have a chance to see Sons of Bill, check 'em out. They played their hearts out. We bought both of their cd's last night, very solid.

I am so glad you all got such a wonderful show; of course I am green with envy to have missed it but am ultimately happy for all those that got to experience this performance!
Hmmmmm...maybe my green tinge is actually caused by all the pain killers I am taking.

GTD,

I think I saw somebody's mic set up in the back next to the sound board, but that might have been yours. I know their past shows at the Peel have been taped.

I must say that I took like 10 photos the whole evening and I usually take like an hour of video and about 150 shots, but I just sat back, well I can't say that........the balls of my feet are so sore from jumping with JJ.

I think Sons of Bill was just about the best opening band for MOFRO, cept for Trombone Shorty.....

I got home and didn't want to sleep, I just wanted to re-live the evening over and over in my head. Hubby went to bed and I made my brother and sister stay up with me til 3:30. Put on a vareity of CD's in the player (mostly MOFRO) and when a non-Mofro song came on, it just didn't feel right.....so I had to fix that!

Yeah, I got alot of feedback from that shirt my brother and I wore. My brother had a woman approach him and offered to buy it so her husband could wear it in the bedroom (if ya know what I mean) and she even said her husband would be ok with it!! Hilarious! My brother says he is going to wear to Skipper's to see how many women he can pick up!

BTW my brother and sister have now re-named themsselves Sunset (my sister) and Sunrise (my brother).....they are characters.

Wish I would have had more time to hang with all of you. Clay, Gregg said he really had a great time talking with you, and btw you have a beautiful wife, spoke with her briefly regarding her #9. And Hello Liz!

Mr. Cracka, I did indeed receive your email and will send out a copy today. I also must say that the connection I made with you and Tracie Saturday night was real. Like we've been best buds for years, can't fake that.

Gunner (you will always be GTD to me), you and your wife are some cool folk......loved talking with you guys about the first time we all heard MOFRO. I saw your post regarding taping the show. I would LOVE a copy, especially since JJ mentioned Silence of the Hams. That was sooo cool. Next time they play in Nashville, we should make the trip and hook up with TN Cracka and Tracie.

When Chris took me back stage and I ended up in the green room, which is actually green, there was JJ and Simone. They did most of the talking. After a show like that you would think JJ would just be wired for sound, but he was so relaxed. They both gave me a hug and thanked me again for the BBQ and how they loved my beans (I am known as the Bean Queen in my circle). Then JJ saw my shirt and he was very apologetic about not playing the harp as much and started telling me the story about how he had some faulty equipment or something and got 110 volt shock when he put the hamonica to his mouth, and he is working on getting his equipment fixed. I did not want to over stay my welcome, so I told them to expect BBQ everytime they come to the Peel. Both JJ and Simone signed my shirt too.

(as I was back stage, my brother commented to my husband that "we have witnesses Gregg....she left you")

Art caught me on the way out and said that he had seen the top of the shirt "More Harmonica" and tried to read the rest, but I never sat still. He said that he really wants one, I told him I will hook him up with one somehow. Gregg wondered up to come and get me and I introduced him to Art and they talked for a bit.

Ahhhhh.........memories, they are a good thing. Have a beautiful week everyone!

I'm still recovering from an awesome long weekend! Great times, Liz and Jen and I laughed a lot, listened to Mofro all the way up and back-John Dude had cut us

CDs of the Savannah show so when we dropped Liz in Orlando we got to listen to it on the way home to Tampa. How cool is that. JD is the best of the best; he was sorely missed.

I'm just poking my head in for the moment; we didn't get in until about 11:30 last night; I ain't even had time to catch up on all the threads, upload my pics and vids,
or even unpack for that matter. And there's this nagging work thing.

Great meeting everyone; Briggzz I'm sorry I missed you; Bonnie I'm sorry I couldn't get back with you; Julie...so sorry for the probs at the door, next time I'm going to have a big sign to tape on the door primarily so that the Peel staff knows that there is a party going on on the premises, right under their very noses, and maybe...just maybe...that's what someone is talking about when they come up and ask where the private party is. Sheesh! Glad we met and I could prove to your friends that your sanity was intact.

Before I run, one last big thank you to GimmeThatDrop for coming up with the idea for the perfect spot for a party. (Dumb ass Clay forgot to take ANY pics of it!) We had 24-25 people. With them's that missed it on the board, couldn't get in, and sent me an email that I didn't get in time we'd have easily had 35. I vote for doing it again next time. Now that we know about it and how it all works we can let people know about it 2-3 weeks out. We'll easily double what we had and have 50 raving JJ Grey & Mofro fans.

I'll be back!

Sorry I didn't get to rally and meet up with you guys! I think I saw GTD over on the side but never got a chance to say hey. At least we got to wave from afar Clay and give each others the thumbs up. I am steadily searching for my next show dates.

Oh ya 3 more people converted to Mofro fans. One went Sunday and bought all the albums hahaha. My favorite quote from one of them was:

"Ok you said the shows were electric but you didn't say I would leave completely drained of all my energy."

SUCCESS!

When I read all the posts from all the shows all of you other board members attended together and saw how close and what a great time y'all had, I was hoping to feel that at this show and I must say I did........this is an awesome group of folks here and I hope to meet all of you some day.

I have listened to Brighter Days about 15 times already, I really like the different guitar sound it has.

Hey GTD, is it possible to seclude the verbage JJ was saying about Asheville and the blurb about the BBQ and have it able to be emailed? I have some folks I would love to share that with.

When I handed JJ my setlist to sign he said "wow, you got the one with all the changes on it"

Thanks again to TN Cracka!! - and you should get your DVD probably today.

After that, for my main man Delerious Tyme, I'm gonna load up "Brighter Days." Yep, thought about DT as soon as JJ started in and got the camera rolling just a few seconds into it.

Hey all y'all in WNC: Tired of bitching about the outrageous prices to fly in and out of Asheville to Florida? Sick of having to go to Greenville to catch a flight that won't set you back (another) mortgage payment? Have lost all hope it'll ever happen? Must suck to be you.

Nahhhhh...you need to read this instead Asheville Airport adds new cheap flights

Even if you don't live in WNC, check it out just to see the purty picture of Asheville. Be sure to enlarge it, and get you a drool towel.
