WOW!!! The band loves New Orleans and New Orleans loves the band. They brought it for 2 hours last night to a packed house at HOB. Other musicians in the house were Big Sam Williams and Mark Mullins (trombonists who both joined the fun), and Kevin O'Day and Stanton Moore (drummers who were just there to enjoy the show).

During intros of Big Sam and Mark, JJ commented about it's not every place that you can get such quality musicians to join in like that and that if he's not careful, he'll get "Galactic up here and put there ass to work."

From her earlier post, she's probably resting up from last night and getting ready for tonight. Unfortunately, with work today and tomorrow, I don't think Baton Rouge is in the cards for tonight. Then we'll get a double report from her tomorrow!

Hey guys! I'm in Baton Rouge. Was just up at The Varsity and saw the guys setting up. Hanging with my buddy Nik who'll be impressing us with his lighting designer skills tonight. I had no internet in NOLA, but I got some now.

Last night was fantastic! It was fun taping. I think the recording came out alright, but a little quiet. I am hoping skotdee can fix that with a little editing (??). Not sure what it will sound like when the volume is fuller. Hope it isn't too tinny. Regardless, there were two other tapers. Thanks soooo much to Louie who let me clip my baby mics on to his big ol' stand. And thanks to him and Dave (the other taper) for keeping an eye on my gear along with theirs when I went up to the front.

The music was killer. Loved the trombone stand-ins. No piano for JJ, again. But he sure is a pro on the guitar, so I really don't mind! The House of Blues was pretty relaxed compared to what y'all said about Orlando. I saw lots of people taking photos, but I didn't bring my camera.

It was fun meeting Kerry, Greg, and John (Hog Colla). Kerry definitely has some stories to tell! My friend with me was Josh. He had a great time too. Hope to see some of y'all again tonight. The Varsity looks like a cool venue!

And by the way, Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights are so rockin'! They play their hearts out. Very cool.

Thanks for the setlist and everything Greg. Man, I can't wait to hear this show. Those sit-ins must've been jaw dropping.

Ash...yes I am...what's your point?

I just decided to jump in head-first and figure out how to edit the sound, split the files, and upload this show to the archive myself. It's in the works (I've already got my own copy on CD -- sounds pretty good). I hope to have the HOB show up for y'all to listen before the weekend is over! Who said this sh*t takes 15 minutes?!?!?! I guess if ya already know what you're doing, you can breeze through it. Maybe I can get the Baton Rouge show done more quickly. Stay tuned!

The first few times doing anything always takes longer....keep at it Ashely, you'll be a pro in no time....plus, most tapers I've met ove the years were fairly nice people and always willing to help out a newb. Look forward to hearing your recording....it's nice to have yet another taper on the list!!

The La shows were great!! It was fantastic catching up everybody and meeting new friends. HOB was rockin' on all levels & BR sounded super tight. These were the first Orange Blossoms shows Ive seen & as always, never let down! I was extremely impressed with Jonathan Tyler & Northern Lights... Lotta heart & soul in these cats. See y'all Mardi Gras
