JJ will be playing an acoustic set on Tues, Aug 26 at CD Connection in Jax Beach. It's on Mofro's website on the tour schedule. Ain't nothing about it on CD Connection's website yet. JJ's gonna be signing autographs. Where YOU at? ---------- MofroFan1
Just thought I'd get this message bumped up here cause the subject is getting caught up in another thread.
ScottDee says get there on time or early cause the show will start right on time and last time there was only about 5 songs.
He's also taping the show. I can bring someone's taping equipment but only will if needed as a back up.
I think that's it for now. If we can post anything regarding the acoustic set here it'll be easier to find. ---------- MofroFan1

Awww, come on Junior. Actually, catch a train from Boston to Jax and it'd be cheaper than driving or flying. Just gotta take the week off, that's all. C'mon--the weather's fine! Well, it's actually hot and the humidity is so thick it slows you down when you walk. Then there's the thunderstorms and Central Florida's standing as having the highest number of lightning strikes in the U.S. every year. Yep, weather's just fine!! (I ain't bitching, believe me. I've not shoveled an ounce of snow ever in my life so I ain't gonna start bitching about the summers.)
To get off of my jaw-jacking and on to answering your question, it's about 3 1/2 hours to Jax and another 1/2 hour to Jax Beach. Depends on what time of day, of course, but it ain't got traffic like Boston for sure. They ain't got no Big Dig neither. Shit, dig down about 15 feet or so and you'll hit water.
It's interesting though...Mapquest routes you up through the middle of the state, of which about 80 miles or so is off-interstate and on U.S. 301. Goes right through Lochloosa--and don't blink.
Google maps takes you on I-4 through Orlando to Daytona and then on I-95 north to Jax. About the same amount of time, unless I-4 backs up because of an accident or because of Disney--both frequent occurences. That and the maniacal drivers who will even pass cars in the right emergency lane going 85 mph.
I've taken the US 301 route for 25 years. Easier on the nerves, and a pretty drive once you get north of Ocala. (There's a 3rd option through the Ocala National Forest that's really pretty, but it adds near an hour to the trip.)
There. So much for asking me a simple question and getting a simple answer. Somebody STOP me! ---------- MofroFan1
