Well no we don't exactly have sponsors. It's just what them things are called in the web biz. I'm sure you noticed some 'sponsors' that have been added to some of the pages.
A few people have offered in the past to contribute to the cause and it is greatly appreciated! (And I still might take you up on it someday! You all know who you are!!)
But I'd rather make it simpler than that. When you go to the sponsor links and end up buying something, then I get a small commission. (Except for the little Google ads; they pay a few cents each time one is clicked on.)
I hope that no one thinks that I'm profiting from the site. It costs me $50-$60 a month. Last year it cost me just under $1,000. If I generate about $50/month and cover my basic expenses then I'd be thrilled.
It's more difficult than it sounds; because click thru rates are typically 1 to 3% and purchase rates are under 1%, you have to have a lot more site visitors than we get to make even $20/month. But I'd even be thrilled with that.
This way there's no pressure on anybody--other than if you want something like tix, downloads, internet radio, etc. to click thru and see if there's something there that's a good deal. If you don't see nothing you like, then you ain't gotta buy nothing. Simple as that.
I thank everyone who visits the site for all your support. Without all of you there would be no mofrofans.com. It's gonna keep getting better and better y'all!

i'd be inclined to add a donate button to this here website.
it's community serving, and i think it could easily be partly, if not wholly funded by the community.
i know it takes money to keep these things goin, and people do forget that.
i'm happy your hobby turn into something more here, and it just seems right that the community do its best to keep themselves up and running.

Thank you UH and everyone. Mighty kind. When I get time to do that I think I will. I do want to keep making things better if I can and if I had a lot of money it'd be a different story. I really appreciate the sentiments.
So far in the 2 weeks since I put up the little sponsor ads I've made 3 bucks! Based on that I'm up to a machiatto grande at Starbuck's once a month!

I just noticed the "donate" button and you can bet damn skippy that as soon as I get paid on Friday I will be making a contribution!
Clay, I am so thankful that you have created this wonderful home for us MOFRO freaks to congregate in! I am HAPPY to be able to assist on some small level with the maintenance of this site!
