I'm happy to host an ORLANDO pre-party at my house.
We could all meet up, eat/drink & talk some smack.
I live about 10-15 minutes from Park Ave Cd's, we could caravan to the IN STORE Peformance, then caravan to the House of Rules. For details/directions email me at Johndude777@yahoo.com I need to know how many folks so I can plan on drinks/food for everyone. Maybe I can recruit a few of y'all to bring beer etc...
PreParty begins at 2:00pm...that way we can sleep in abit after Gainesville, and still have time to hang out before the In Store Performance.

Couple of notes...for those that may have gotten tix early-they've now changed the time to doors at 7, show at 8 (there is an opener, anybody know anything about Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights?)
Tix are still avail at mofro.net or from Ticketbastards that other ticket seller.

They added a second opener for the HOB show, Cowboy Mouth in addition to Jonathan Tyler.
I'm going on vacation that week and actually when choosing dates for when to go down to FL. HOB 01/23/09 came up and that locked it up as the week to go. Its been a very cold and snowy winter up here in Boston. Hopefully that florida sunshine will hold up for me.

Ah yes, planning vacation around Mofro dates. I think I've done that myself. We've heard/seen y'alls weather so far this winter and let's just say we're glad we're not there. This week's getting a little nippy here (for us.) Rest of the week's high in the low 60s and the lows in the upper 30s (it warms up pretty fast usually.) Good news is that we know a few days in advance before a big cold front is coming. Bad news is it's like a hurricane in that you cain't do nuthin about it. Good news is that at least we don't have to worry about the big thunderstorms we get every day from May thru Sept.
Later this week I'll put my meteorologists hat on and give a forecast for late next week. (But shhhhh. As far as giggles is concerned we have snow forecast and a tsunami coming to central florida late next week. Shhhhh.) :>}

Oh, I see how it is Clay. I am beginning to think that you are trying to keep me north of the Mason Dixon Line!
Being from the Northeast, I am used to bitterly cold weather, floods, snow and rain showers that last 2 weeks, a little tsunami is nothing to me:p
I am damn near a natural disaster unto myself, I am sort of like a female Kramer but about 5x times worse so inclement weather is not a deterrent to me!

I can't wait for this show. Who else has seen them there? I've only seen them there once, back in April '06. From what I remember, its a pretty sweet venue, other than the overzealous security presence... I remember it sounding GOOD.

Dougloosa and Son are in and possibly additional new fans. Probably won't be able to make the afternoon show, but I am sure we will be holding up the Bar at the HOB restaurant before the show. If you haven't seen a show @ HOB there is plenty of room and the acoustics ae fantastic. I've seen plenty of shows there from James Brown to BB, to Gov Mule, Gregg Allman etc. Plenty of room on the floor and tapers can set up right in front of the sound booth or just behind to get clear sounds. Clay looks like you missed a picture of Dougloosa and son from Freebird maybe HOB?? security is usually pretty tight and make take a little time so plan ahead.

I grew up about 25 miles-ish from Beaufro's hood. Back in the old days (y'know, late 70's) when I was in high school and jr college, we had to drive to Orlando to the trail to hit strip joints. (And no, we didn't have horse and buggies, we had CARS. On paved roads too!) We dint have none in bumfuck. (Of course, uh Miss Linda, I stayed in the car and studied and read my bible while my friends went in.)
I got a reputation to uphold y'all. Shhh.

jake and I are definetly doing the Orlando show and park ave cd shows. We are cooking Hoe Cake for JJ for the instore perfromance...would he like this/is this permissable?
(hit me up clay to see if it's kosher with management)
We can't do the Gainesville/Tallahassee shows due to previous obligations.

In looking at the forecast for Orlando next week, 60's sound amazing. 40's at night is t shirt weather.

Hell it's 58 right now in Tampa, in the middle of the day. I've got my overcoat and earmuffs on so it's all good.
RiverRat, me too. My dad grew up in N. Florida and loved whiteacre peas but I've never heard anyone else talk about them or know about them. When I was growing up in Lake County, we'd go to somewhere in N. Florida and pick bushels of 'em. He had him a fancy elect pea sheller. Cook up a shitload, freeze 'em. Eat whiteacres all year. Some raw vidalia onion on 'em...whooooeeeee!
