Have you ever tried to take a photograph of a firefly? Not an easy task. if you use a flash - no glow.....if you don't us a flash - just a glow ~~~ very interesting concept. I am going to have to work on getting thee perfect picture of a firefly. They are just coming round these here parts for the next couple of weeks. Just sitting on the front porch in the evenings watching the fireflies is like nature's laser light show - beautiful!!

Just as JJ sings about the King Hummingbird, they are indeed one of nature's most delicate and beautiful creatures. Their wing speed is 50-60 beats per second! This little fella was visiting my feeder the other day. Although not a King Hummingbird, still amazing to watch. I have two feeders close to each other, but they do not like to share or be near one another when feeding. I will sit on my front porch real still with my camera and watch in awe how they feed. They are polite and will take turns. One hummingbird will be feeding and another is waiting patiently on a nearby oak tree branch for their turn to enjoy the sweet nectar they so love!!

Enjoy your week everyone!! As I am off to Mile High for some 65 degrees highs & 50 degress lows .......tossed together with some splendiferous Mountain views, gooey s'mores and sprinkling of the smell of an on going camp fire for 3 days, intertwined with the music of Mofro in the mountains, and doused with some red wine by the fire as the sun sets only to have it rise again for a beautiful day to begin with the smell of BACON!! There ain't nuthin like the smell of bacon in the woods! I must say that I do side with Clay on the whole syrup discussion. I like to tastes my meats ~~ no sauces, as I do not put steak sauce on my steak, not syrup on bacon.

Peace, Love & M*O*F*R*O MANIA!!!!

:o)

Thanks for the compliment, but I need to work on the firefly shots. They say the theory behind the diminishing fireflies is the light pollution. I am fortunate to live out where the light pollution is very minimal. And watching my boys relish in the opportunity to view them, is in my book, priceless.

And thanks, I think I will enjoy being outside for 4 days!!! I will post some pics for you.

how far away are you from San Diego? I have a great friend that lives there and does alot of sailing.

aahhhhh.....that must be wonderful to be so close to the ocean! I used to live about 8 miles from the gulf when I lived in Pinellas County on the west coast of Florida. I miss the smell of the ocean.....
